Hello,
My name is Mary Reed and I live in Minnesota, USA. I am of Norwegian heritage from the Stavanger area (my family immigrated in 1871).

Your photos are incredible and I am so happy that I found them on Google!

I am reading Out Stealing Horses by Per Petterson and I am looking for photos of hayracks and how they are made. Are the photos on your web page of people making hayracks? I'm sorry to be so ignorant -- I have never had much exposure to farming!

Thank you so very much. Someday I hope to visit the land of my ancestors.

Me too! I am reading Out Stealing Horses and looking for photos of hayracks! The description of the racks is pretty clear, but how they arrange the mown grass on them is confusing. If anyone can suggest a drawing or photo that will illustrate the process, Mary Reed and I will be much obliged

Funny isn't it. I am also reading that novel and wanted to find some pictures showing the end product. Haven't had much luck.
